This role manages general accounting services within MGM Resorts Finance Shared Services Center, ensuring timely completion of key accounting processes. The manager supervises a team, maintains GAAP compliance, oversees reconciliations and journal entries, and supports internal customers through defined service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure journal entries and accrual basis transactions are recorded in the correct period
- Review general ledger account reconciliations to ensure timely, accurate balances
- Oversee completion of accounting processes to enable financial close under GAAP
- Maintain accounting records and ensure adherence to MGM Resorts accounting policies
- Maintain service level agreements and deliver timely ad-hoc requests to internal customers
Technical Overview
The scope includes accrual basis accounting, journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and process governance for multiple accounting areas (including payroll and fixed assets). The environment is finance operations with emphasis on accurate financial reporting, standardized practices, and continuous improvement.
