About this role

Manage automation engineering performance for Walmart’s Accelerated Pickup & Delivery (APD) initiative, focusing on KPIs, system acceptance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvements. Build tools and dashboards that help teams understand where performance is lost and what actions will improve uptime and pick rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instrument and analyze automation performance KPIs (OEE, pick rate, latency, uptime)
  • Define and support system acceptance (acceptance testing plans, success criteria, vendor goals)
  • Conduct structured root-cause analysis and support corrective actions
  • Translate specifications into measurable SLAs, scorecards, and release gates
  • Build dashboards, diagnostics, telemetry views, and self-service reporting tools

Technical Overview

Own automation performance management across systems, sites, and vendors, instrumenting metrics such as OEE, pick rate, tote cycle time, queue latency, downtime, and system health. Lead acceptance testing planning, translate system requirements into SLAs and release gates, and use telemetry, event logs, and operational data to drive structured root-cause analysis and test-and-learn improvements.

The ideal candidate is an automation engineering leader who can own end-to-end automation performance management across systems, sites, and vendors. They have strong experience defining and monitoring KPIs (including OEE, pick rate, and latency metrics) and performing structured root-cause analysis to drive test-and-learn improvements. They also build operational dashboards and diagnostics to improve uptime and fulfillment performance.
