Manager, Category Management (Tier II)

Own end-to-end category management for Tier 2 suppliers supporting Symbotic’s robotics platforms, with focus on electrical and OEM components. Drive supplier performance, cost optimization, and scalability through sourcing strategies, RFx, contract negotiations, and KPI/SLA-based continuous improvement.

• Own and execute end-to-end category strategies for Tier 2 robotics components
• Develop sourcing strategies for repair and aftermarket spend
• Lead dual-sourcing, risk mitigation, and capacity planning
• Drive total cost of ownership improvements through negotiations, supplier consolidation, and value engineering
• Lead RFx processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations while monitoring KPIs and SLAs

The role is operational procurement/category management for engineered robotics components, requiring analytical KPI and SLA tracking, forecast/capacity planning coordination, and end-to-end RFx and contracting. It heavily leverages structured, data-driven approaches using Advanced Excel and PowerPoint to support product roadmaps and NPI timelines across Engineering, Supplier Quality, and External Manufacturing.

The ideal candidate is an experienced category management or strategic sourcing leader with 8+ years supporting engineered components in robotics, automation, or industrial technology environments. They have strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with hands-on ownership of end-to-end category strategies for Tier 2 suppliers (including electrical and OEM components) and a track record of improving total cost of ownership through supplier consolidation and value engineering.
