About this role

Manager, Data Science III leads a team of data scientists and ML engineers to build, deploy, and operationalize machine learning and AI solutions; partners with engineering, product, and operations to deliver measurable business impact from experimentation to production.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of scalable machine learning solutions
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact use cases
Manage full data science lifecycle from data acquisition to deployment
Enforce best practices in experimentation, model validation, and reproducibility
Mentor and develop Data Scientists & ML Engineers

Technical Overview

Hands-on with Python or R, ML libraries, NLP/LLMs, SQL, data engineering, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Spark, dbt, Iceberg, Redshift, Athena; data visualization with Tableau/Plotly/Streamlit; strong MLOps and CI/CD practices

The ideal candidate is a senior data science manager with 5+ years of data science experience and 2+ years leading technical teams, strong Python/R and SQL skills, NLP/LLMs experience, and cloud platform expertise to drive scalable ML initiatives across Chewy’s Customer Care organization.
