Manager, Engineering (Backend)-Xumo

Lead the Video Streaming Backend team to develop and optimize the backend infrastructure powering Xumo streaming services. Drive metrics, standards, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable, reliable delivery to millions of viewers.

• Creates and maintains a system of metrics and reporting standards by which to measure and report the real-time results of workflow and practical application of relevant standards
• Analyzes results of metrics and reports to determine effective work processes and standards and identify flaws. Recommends solutions to work process and standards flaws
• Directs the daily and overall performance of department projects. Delegates responsibilities and ensures projects are completed on time and within budget
• Mentors, recruits and guides staff, ensuring access to ongoing training programs
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Back-end stack includes Java, JavaScript, GraphQL, SQL, and Spring Boot. Responsibilities include building scalable backend services, maintaining performance, and mentoring engineers; deployment considerations may involve containerization.

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineering leader with 5-7 years' Java/JavaScript backend experience, strong GraphQL/SQL skills, and a track record mentoring teams to deliver scalable streaming backend systems.
