Manager responsible for software technology vendor management; coordinates software acquisitions, license management and contract terms; collaborates with sourcing, finance and asset management; focus on procurement, maintenance, cost/risk optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into license acquisition requirements and coordinate with procurement and contracts teams
- Devise negotiation strategy and license matrix
- Collaborate with product subject matter experts, procurement sourcing and contracts team, finance, asset management and renewal teams to achieve successful execution and effective maintenance of software contracts
- Assist engineering teams in navigating technology and contract-related matters, provide support and guidance to ensure effective utilization of technology and adherence to contract terms
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
Technical Overview
Role focuses on licensing, contracts, and vendor management rather than hands-on software development. Requires understanding of licensing models, T&Cs, privacy/compliance, and cross-functional coordination to optimize costs and mitigate risk.
