Manager, Solution Architecture- Remote, US

Smile Digital Health seeks a Manager, Solution Architecture to lead the Solutions Architect team while staying hands-on in delivering complex implementations. The role combines people leadership, architecture oversight, and continuous improvement of the architecture practice using reusable reference assets and AI-driven approaches.

• Provide hands-on architecture leadership and manage technical escalations
• Advance the architecture practice with AI-driven approaches, playbooks, and reference architectures
• Lead, mentor, and grow the architecture team through goals and performance management
• Collaborate cross-functionally on architecture design, scoping, implementation, testing, and documentation
• Support technical roadmaps and business cases and participate in Architecture Review Board (ARB)

The position focuses on strategic solution architecture delivery, including architecture design, scoping, implementation support, testing coordination, and documentation. It also contributes to governance via the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and aligns architecture practices with Smile’s FHIR-based data liberation platform.

The ideal candidate is a lead-level solutions/solution architecture professional who can both manage an architecture team and remain hands-on on complex Smile implementations. They have experience delivering architecture guidance, handling technical escalations, maturing architecture practices with reusable patterns, and working with healthcare interoperability using FHIR-based platforms.
