About this role
Analyze product designs for manufacturability and translate engineering requirements into processes, tooling methodology, and shop-floor work instructions. Drive production improvements by creating MBOM for MRP, leading RCCA, and issuing ECRs to resolve manufacturing issues and improve manufacturing flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturability of designs and provide feedback on design criteria;Develop and maintain process plans, time standards, and shop floor work instructions;Create MBOM to enable MRP processes for order release, scheduling, and sourcing;Drive Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) and issue engineering change requests (ECR);Recommend production facility arrangements to improve capacity and manufacturing flow
Technical Overview
The role focuses on manufacturing process engineering: defining discrete manufacturing operations and time standards, authoring process plans, creating MBOM to support MRP scheduling and order release, and interpreting engineering drawings to recommend engineering changes. It also emphasizes continuous improvement through RCCA and facility/layout recommendations to increase capacity and streamline production flow.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Manufacturing Engineer experienced in assessing manufacturability of designs and creating detailed process plans for shop-floor execution. They have strong experience with MBOM creation, MRP enablement, and leading Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts using engineering change requests (ECR) to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing flow.
