About this role
Baxter’s Manufacturing Engineer Intern role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment under direct supervision. The intern will support manufacturing process design, testing and analysis, documentation, continuous improvement, quality control, safety training, and learning Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in design, testing, and analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including process sheets and work instructions
- Conduct research on new manufacturing technologies and methods
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and experiments to optimize processes
- Assist with quality control procedures and safety training including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO)
Technical Overview
This internship focuses on manufacturing process engineering support: documentation (process sheets/work instructions), troubleshooting, experiments to optimize processes, and quality control procedures. The role also includes basic CAD tasks using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, plus Microsoft Office/Excel for reporting and presentation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a current student in a Bachelor’s program in Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field) seeking hands-on manufacturing experience under supervision. They have strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills and some CAD exposure (SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor preferred), along with a willingness to learn safety procedures including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO).
