About this role
Manufacturing Test Engineer for OTTAVA at Johnson & Johnson Santa Clara; plans, designs, and executes automation for test software used in manufacturing electromechanical components of a medical robotics system; develops test algorithms and APIs; ensures regulatory compliance and on-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Design teams to design, develop, document, and qualify test software used during manufacturing of electro-mechanical components and subassemblies
- Develop test algorithms, test scripts, data acquisition and measurement systems
- Write well designed, testable code to automate test processes
- Develop infrastructure such as common libraries and APIs to support multiple teams' test software
- Provide debugging and troubleshooting support on in-house developed software scripts and processes
Technical Overview
Emphasis on instrumentation automation, scripting (Python, Shell, SQL, Batch, Bash, Linux), and test software design; familiarity with PLM (Oracle Agile) and medical device manufacturing; power electronics and electrical systems understanding.
Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate has 4-5 years of experience in electrical/computer engineering with hands-on automation and robotics test experience; proficient in Python and scripting; familiar with Oracle Agile PLM and medical device manufacturing; onsite Santa Clara.
