About this role

Manufacturing Test Engineer for OTTAVA at Johnson & Johnson Santa Clara; plans, designs, and executes automation for test software used in manufacturing electromechanical components of a medical robotics system; develops test algorithms and APIs; ensures regulatory compliance and on-site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Design teams to design, develop, document, and qualify test software used during manufacturing of electro-mechanical components and subassemblies
  • Develop test algorithms, test scripts, data acquisition and measurement systems
  • Write well designed, testable code to automate test processes
  • Develop infrastructure such as common libraries and APIs to support multiple teams' test software
  • Provide debugging and troubleshooting support on in-house developed software scripts and processes

Technical Overview

Emphasis on instrumentation automation, scripting (Python, Shell, SQL, Batch, Bash, Linux), and test software design; familiarity with PLM (Oracle Agile) and medical device manufacturing; power electronics and electrical systems understanding.
