About this role
Market / Trade Surveillance Manager will lead technical surveillance execution to protect market integrity and support regulatory requirements. The role administers and optimizes surveillance tooling (Eventus Validus and Scilla) and manages investigations, reporting, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform real-time monitoring to identify market abuse (wash trading, spoofing)
- Manage investigations into potential market manipulation and maintain caseloads
- Oversee settlement risk by monitoring cash settlement processes, margin, and large positions
- Administer and optimize Eventus Validus and Scilla workflows and logs
- Prepare CFTC and NFA regulatory reporting and support regulatory examinations with audit trails
Technical Overview
Operate Eventus (Validus) for trade surveillance and use Scilla for smart contract/technical monitoring and compliance workflow audit. Tune surveillance logic to reduce false positives, monitor market risk (margin and position limits), and support regulatory exams with defensible data integrity and reporting outputs.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a surveillance professional with 3–7 years of experience in a CFTC-regulated entity (DCM, DCO, SEF, or FCM) and direct hands-on experience using Eventus (Validus) for trade surveillance. They are highly analytical, can manage investigations and regulatory reporting to CFTC and NFA standards, and can tune alert logic to reduce false positives while maintaining capture of suspicious activity.
