About this role
This Material Handler role supports production by moving and staging a variety of warehouse materials using a propane or electric powered industrial truck. The position includes tractor trailer loading/unloading, optional inventory and weighing, document accuracy checks, and tending shrink/baler equipment while performing routine vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate propane or electric powered industrial truck to move materials
- Stage and secure loads for transport and trailer loading
- Verify shipment accuracy using manifests, invoices, bill of lading, or orders
- Tend and replenish automatic shrink bell and maintain baler room
- Perform routine vehicle and auxiliary equipment maintenance and inspections
Technical Overview
You will operate an industrial truck with forks and clamps to lift, stack, and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas. The job also requires basic computer skills for data entry and routine maintenance/inspection of vehicles and auxiliary equipment, including liquefied-gas tank replacement.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level warehouse material handler with forklift/material handling experience and the physical ability to work 12-hour shifts (including evenings and weekends). They can operate propane or electric powered industrial trucks, handle staging and loading for tractor trailers, perform basic computer data entry, and support shrink/baler equipment through routine tending and maintenance.
