This role is for a Mechanical Maintenance Tech I at EES Coke Battery (a DTE Energy subsidiary) in River Rouge, MI. The technician performs maintenance to keep operating and service equipment running, supporting repairs and coordinating with operating teams to maintain continuity of operations.

Performs maintenance on operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools, including mobile equipment. Works a 12-hour rotating shift (4-week rotation) and participates in a structured Pay for Skill program to progress from Technician I to Technician III (A/B/C) based on proficiency task points and testing.

The ideal candidate is an entry-level mechanical maintenance technician (Technician I / Mechanical Maintenance Tech I) who can maintain operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and mobile equipment. They can work alone or with other Maintenance Technicians, coordinate with operating teams, and perform duties on a 12-hour rotating shift while progressing through the structured Pay for Skill program (A/B/C) based on proficiency testing.
