About this role
HF Sinclair Midstream is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support rotating equipment across pipeline and pump station operations in Artesia, NM. The role performs maintenance, troubleshooting, vibration-based condition assessment, and continuous improvement to ensure equipment reliability and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and install rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, and gear boxes
- Respond to upsets and emergency situations
- Verify compliance with DOT requirements and follow operations and safety procedures
- Read vibration signatures, evaluate machinery condition from vibration data, and recommend continued operation or scheduled repairs
- Analyze component/system data to support operational decisions and implement improvements
Technical Overview
This position focuses on pipeline equipment and pump station rotating systems, including pumps, compressors, drive systems, and gear boxes. The technician must analyze vibration data, identify machinery issues, and perform upgrades, designs, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring while ensuring DOT compliance and adherence to operations and safety procedures.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Mechanical Technician with 5+ years of pipeline experience and a strong background working on rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, and gear boxes. They can read vibration signatures, evaluate machinery condition from vibration data, and isolate affected components to recommend continued operation or scheduled repairs. They also understand DOT requirements and reliably follow operations and safety procedures.
