About this role

Plains is hiring a Mechanical Technician I for field-based work in Eunice, NM. The role performs scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance across pipeline and terminal facilities, including pumps, valves, engines, and tank mixers, while maintaining safety and detailed maintenance records.

Key Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, engines, and tank mixers,
Conduct preventative maintenance for positive displacement pumps using vendor manual guidelines,
Conduct preventative maintenance for centrifugal pumps including oil/bearing monitoring and mechanical seal repair,
Perform pump to motor alignments and maintain coupling alignment records,
Perform lockouts and maintain maintenance records for pipeline equipment wear and repair trends

Technical Overview

This is a hands-on mechanical maintenance position focused on pumps and rotating equipment servicing. You will conduct preventative maintenance for both positive displacement and centrifugal pumps using vendor manual guidelines, including lubrication, clearance checks, oil/bearing monitoring, coupling alignment recordkeeping, and mechanical seal maintenance and repairs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level field mechanical technician with strong hands-on experience performing scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, engines, and tank mixers. They can execute pump to motor alignments, perform preventative maintenance for positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, complete lockouts, and keep accurate maintenance records while working safely in open, extreme-environment conditions.
