About this role
This entry-level field role performs scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, engines, and tank mixers at station and terminal facilities. The technician maintains maintenance records, performs pump alignment work, completes preventative maintenance using vendor manuals, and responds to callouts and emergency-related work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on pipeline and terminal equipment
- Service and lubricate mechanical equipment including tank mixers, pumps, motors, and valves
- Perform pump to motor alignments and maintain coupling alignment records
- Conduct preventative maintenance on positive displacement pumps and centrifugal pumps using vendor manual guidelines
- Perform lockouts on company facilities and maintain safety in the field
Technical Overview
You will conduct preventative maintenance on both positive displacement pumps and centrifugal pumps, including gear lube and rod clearance checks, oil changes, bearing and oil temperature monitoring, and mechanical seal repairs. The role also includes lockout execution and maintenance on small engine drive pumps such as ignition and fuel system checks.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level junior mechanical technician who can perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance in the field, especially on pumps, valves, engines, and tank mixers. They follow vendor manual guidelines for preventative maintenance tasks, maintain accurate maintenance records, and reliably execute lockouts and safety procedures while responding to callouts in extreme temperatures.
