About this role
This HoH/SkillBridge fellowship role places Active-Duty military members and military spouses into an RME pathway as a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician. The technician supports Operations Maintenance by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems, installing and maintaining automated packaging/distribution equipment, and mentoring junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment
- Mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles
Technical Overview
Hands-on maintenance role in robotics and material handling, covering pneumatic systems and automated packaging/distribution equipment. The scope includes preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and working with belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays using blueprints and electrical schematics.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an active-duty U.S. military member or military spouse who has 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls, predictive and preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting material handling equipment (MHE). They can read blueprints and electrical schematics, follow safety standards, use Microsoft Office, and mentor junior technicians within the Operations Maintenance team.
