About this role
This role is responsible for safely troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial steelmaking environment. The mechanic will perform both preventive and predictive maintenance and document work in EBS or a similar CMMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade mechanical equipment
- Maintain and repair engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machinery, and related plant equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments to perform maintenance tasks
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability
- Accurately document work performed using EBS or a similar CMMS

The position focuses on mechanical maintenance work including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery. Work includes using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments, while monitoring equipment using sound, vibration, and performance indicators.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level mechanical maintenance professional with 2+ years of hands-on troubleshooting experience in industrial settings, ideally a steel mill or heavy industrial environment. They can safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, document work in EBS or a CMMS, and support preventive and predictive maintenance with strong housekeeping and safety leadership.
