About this role
Mobile Equipment Mechanic at Commercial Metals maintains and repairs mobile equipment, cranes, and related systems in a manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and document work while ensuring safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain mobile equipment, cranes, bearings, power transmission, hydraulics/pneumatics, fluid pumping systems and welding principles/rigging
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, including fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids
- Services machinery and mechanical equipment by completing repairs on engines, hydraulics systems, mobile and stationary equipment
- Repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, body repair and replacing parts and components
- Maintains specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and material usage
Technical Overview
Technical scope includes hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, welding, rigging, bearing and power transmission systems; requires reading diagrams and manuals; work is on-site in a manufacturing setting.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a skilled mobile equipment mechanic with 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, strong hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, and the ability to read technical diagrams and service manuals in an industrial manufacturing setting.
