About this role

Vision Net is hiring a Network Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems and network infrastructure. The role includes diagnostics, preventive maintenance, handling service tickets, documenting configurations, and supporting upgrades while ensuring safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, modems, and structured cabling
Perform diagnostics and repairs for network hardware and software issues
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
Respond to service tickets and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Document network configurations, maintenance activities, and service reports

Technical Overview

You will work with fiber optics, routers, switches, modems, and structured cabling, performing hardware/software diagnostics and repairs. The position emphasizes network protocols including DWDM, BGP, TCP/IP, SIP, OSPF, SNMP, and MPLS, plus use of OSS/BSS and network management tools, with Microsoft 365 for documentation/support.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Network Technician with 3–5 years of telecommunications or network support experience. They have strong troubleshooting skills across routers, switches, fiber optics, and structured cabling, along with knowledge of network protocols like BGP, OSPF, and TCP/IP. They can document changes, handle service tickets quickly, and support preventive maintenance and network security initiatives while traveling to remote sites as needed.
