Nuclear Security Officer I

Entry-level Nuclear Security Officer responsible for maintaining security at nuclear stations, monitoring and testing electronic security systems, enforcing NRC requirements, and performing access control, patrols, and vehicle searches.

• Maintain security at nuclear stations
• Monitor and program electronic security and communications systems
• Respond to alarms and emergencies
• Control access to protected/vital areas
• Search vehicles, personnel, and possessions prior to entry

Operates, monitors, and programs electronic security and communications systems; responds to alarms and emergencies; compiles security reports and maintains documentation; coordinates with protective strategy and local agencies as needed.

The ideal candidate is an entry-level security professional with a focus on nuclear facility protection, basic NRC and security systems knowledge, and the ability to learn and perform access control, alarm monitoring, and emergency response at a nuclear power site.
