- ['Operates a 750 hp heat pump system to supply chilled and heated water to air handling units', 'Starts and stops refrigeration compressors up to 600 hp and manages dampers and motor speeds', 'Operates gas or oil-fired low-pressure package boilers and maintains water temperatures/steam pressures', 'Takes water samples and tests hardness, alkalinity, and acidity; adjusts chemical dosing', 'Prepares boilers for annual inspection and performs routine lubrication and minor maintenance']
Technical Overview
Hands-on operation and maintenance of a 750 hp heat pump system and up to 600 hp boilers; water chemistry testing and chemical dosing; preventative maintenance and emergency response; adherence to safety tagging and inspection procedures.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level operating engineer with 5+ years of utility complex operations experience, holding a First Class Refrigeration License, and capable of operating a 750 hp heat pump and up to 600 hp boilers. Must be able to perform shift work, maintenance, and annual inspections in a large facility.
