About this role
Amazon is looking for an Operations Engineer to lead and manage cross-functional projects for sortation and distribution systems. You will help plan and implement facility network infrastructure including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and related program initiatives, coordinating stakeholders and vendors to deliver timely handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage complex project lifecycles as project owner
- Lead execution of automated equipment designs including installation, throughput and safety qualifications
- Partner with stakeholders and vendors to set priorities, milestones, and schedules
- Proactively identify dependencies, problem-solve, and mitigate risks
- Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals while reporting status to leadership
Technical Overview
You will manage technology or integration projects supporting fulfillment and distribution center designs, including automated equipment execution. The role includes installation, throughput and safety qualifications, optimization to resolve technical deficiencies, and structured engineering review participation.

The ideal candidate is an operations engineering professional who can own complex cross-functional project lifecycles for sortation and distribution solutions. They have hands-on experience with automated equipment design, installation, safety qualifications, schedule/risk management, and strong stakeholder/vendor communication with substantial domestic travel.
