About this role
The Payroll Specialist will process payroll (bi-weekly or monthly) and ensure accurate, on-time employee payments. The role includes payroll data entry, benefits administration support, reconciliation, journal entries, and compliance-focused tax filings.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll via Workday/ADP/Paychex/UltiPro
- Reconcile payroll accounts using general ledger reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping
- Manage benefits administration tasks and employee record updates via HRIS
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and ensure proper posting
- Support tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Technical Overview
This role uses payroll and HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, and Ceridian, along with accounting systems like QuickBooks and PeopleSoft. The candidate must support general ledger reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping through accurate journal entries and discrepancy resolution.
