About this role
Pharmacy Intern learns pharmacy skills while attending pharmacy school and performs duties under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Responsibilities include helping with prescription and refill information, assisting customers, operating the cash register, and supporting compliance-focused quality assurance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept customer and prescription information including refill authorization
- Fill customer prescriptions
- Learn and operate the pharmacy computer system to input customer and prescription data
- Assist customers and operate the cash register
- Complete quality assurance duties applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations
Technical Overview
Works with the pharmacy computer system to input customer and prescription data, supporting timely prescription processing. Performs compliance-aligned quality assurance tasks under state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations, plus operational reporting like cycle counts and inventory reports.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a pharmacy student enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program and holding a required Pharmacy intern license. They can complete pharmacy intern duties under supervision, including entering prescription data, assisting customers, supporting refill authorization and prescription fulfillment, and performing quality assurance tasks aligned with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
