About this role
This role supports a pharmacy’s purchasing function by ordering drugs and supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records, and reconciling inventory through cycle counts and physical inventories. The technician also manages shortages/back orders and responds to medication recall notifications in coordination with pharmacy leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Order drugs and supplies based on established order points
- Maintain targeted inventory levels using inventory control programs
- Communicate real-time shortages and coordinate resolution of inventory order problems (back orders, manufacture outs)
- Oversee and respond to medication recall notifications in conjunction with the pharmacy manager
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate variances and reconcile with accounting
