As a Pipefitter Apprentice, you work in the refinery maintenance department performing installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping, tubing, and valves. The role includes specialized tasks like blinding and hot tapping, along with blueprint and diagram interpretation in hazardous refinery conditions.

  • Install, remove, and repair refinery piping, tubing, and connection systems
  • Repair flange leaks by tightening or replacing bolts, flanges, and gaskets
  • Fabricate and install pipe components including unions, joints, gaskets, nozzles, valves, and insulation
  • Perform blinding, bend/cut/thread, and hot tap related pipefitting procedures
  • Read and follow safety procedures, work permits, and blueprints; operate lifting equipment

Hands-on pipefitting work in a refinery environment including fabrication, installation/removal, flange leak repair, bending/cutting/threading, and executing hot tap and torque inspection procedures. Responsibilities include preparing schematic drawings and reports and operating lifting equipment such as fork lifts, man-lifts, and overhead cranes.

The ideal candidate is an entry-level Pipefitter Apprentice with a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license. They can read safety procedures, work permits, process/equipment diagrams, vendor manuals, and blueprints, and are willing to perform physically demanding refinery work including working in confined spaces and elevated areas.
