This role develops and optimizes regional operating plans for the El Paso Texas Refinery using linear programming models. You will forecast refinery deliverables, analyze buy-or-make options with economic modeling and sensitivity analysis, and partner with multiple value-chain functions to align economic strategies.

  • Develop and execute regional operating plans using linear programming (LP) models
  • Manage local refinery forecasting and deliverables
  • Create optimized production plans and adjust plans based on demand/margin changes
  • Analyze buy-or-make options using economic modeling and sensitivity analysis
  • Build backcast and scenario models from historical refinery data to find optimization opportunities

The technical scope includes using linear programming (LP) models and simulation models to create executable production plans, incorporating constraints and demand/margin changes. You will also perform economic modeling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario/backcast modeling using historical refinery data, and use scheduling tools/processes with APS for plan development.

The ideal candidate has an engineering Bachelor’s degree and experience building and using linear programming (LP) models to create optimized refinery production and operating plans. They are comfortable with refinery economics, forecasting, and buy-or-make analysis using economic modeling and sensitivity analysis, collaborating across value chain functions.
