About this role

This Platform Engineering Lead role builds and operates Rumble’s Internal Developer Platform (IDP) as an internal product to standardize golden paths and accelerate developer velocity. You will lead the platform team, collaborate with SRE for production reliability, and embed security and AI-human oversight into platform workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Platform Engineering Team
Design and evolve the self-service IDP (CI/CD golden paths, Terraform/Ansible IaC, Kubernetes abstractions, monitoring integrations)
Treat the IDP as a product with user interviews, roadmap, and developer velocity metrics
Embed secure development hygiene (NIST 800-218), AI-augmented workflows with Human-in-theLoop, and Behavior-Driven Development practices
Partner with SRE for production runtime reliability and reduce toil via platform self-serve capabilities

Technical Overview

Design and deliver self-service IDP capabilities including CI/CD golden paths, Infrastructure-as-Code templates using Terraform/Ansible, Kubernetes abstractions, and monitoring integrations. Apply GitOps practices and integrate secure development hygiene aligned to NIST 800-218, while incorporating AI-augmented workflows with mandatory Human-in-theLoop and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Platform Engineering Lead who has built Internal Developer Platform (IDP) solutions at scale, with deep experience in Kubernetes and GitOps plus strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills using Terraform and Ansible. They combine platform engineering with product ownership (roadmaps, user interviews, measurable developer velocity improvements) and embed secure development hygiene aligned to NIST 800-218, including AI-augmented workflows with mandatory Human-in-theLoop.
