About this role
This role is for a non-surgical podiatrist providing outpatient specialty care through telehealth for patients at increased risk for amputation. The position includes managing Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) clinics and coordinating with other personnel to ensure comprehensive high-risk patient management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage outpatients in a telehealth setting
- Provide podiatry telemedicine for high-risk patients at increased risk for amputation
- Tele supervise basic foot care including basic wound care
- Manage podiatry Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) clinics
- Manage outpatient consults in a timely manner
Technical Overview
The technical scope is telehealth delivery for podiatry, including managing Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) clinics and providing podiatry telemedicine and basic wound care remotely. Work includes timely outpatient consult management and coordination with intermediate care technician(s) (ICT) and other departments.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a podiatrist experienced in non-surgical care delivered via telehealth, specifically podiatry telemedicine for high-risk patients at rural and highly rural VA clinics. They should be comfortable managing outpatient consults, supervising Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) clinics, and providing basic wound care with a clear focus on limb preservation.
