Remote Power System Studies Engineer II supporting complex power systems across North America through modeling and analysis. The role performs technical studies, prepares reports, troubleshoots study execution, and coordinates project setup/closeout while tracking time and budget-related items.

  • Perform power system studies (power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, harmonics, EMT, techno-economic analysis)
  • Apply first-principles electric power systems knowledge and regulatory standards
  • Support study scripting and troubleshooting across execution phases
  • Collaborate with engineering/consulting staff to deliver work meeting technical and commercial objectives
  • Track project hours, review time logs, and submit timely project time reports

You will run power system simulation and modeling work covering power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, harmonics, and EMT, plus techno-economic analysis for transmission, distribution, and generation. You will manage confidential technical/commercial data and deliver study outputs via Excel-based technical tables and Word-based reports.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level power systems engineer with 3–6 years of experience performing power system studies such as power flow, transient stability, short-circuit analysis, harmonics, and EMT. They are proficient with power system simulation and modeling tools and can produce clear technical reports using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word while coordinating confidential project data.
