About this role

This entry-level role supports printing operations by assisting with the printing press. You will handle feed system setup, make readies, plate and blanket changes, and cleaning/maintenance of press components while following safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Press Operator in operation of the printing press
Perform set up for feed system
Assist 2nd Press Operator in changing plates and blankets
Assist with make readies and washing plates, blankets, rollers and ink fountains
Perform preventative maintenance and general cleaning tasks

Technical Overview

The technical focus is printing press support: feed system setup, plate and blanket changes, make readies, washing plates/blankets/rollers/ink fountains, and performing preventative maintenance and cleaning tasks on the equipment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level press feeder operator/material handler familiar with printing press operations and basic maintenance. They can set up the feed system, assist with make readies, change plates and blankets, wash press components, follow safety policies and relevant legislation, and perform preventative maintenance while being capable of heavy lifting.
