Principal Data Architect II - Biologics

Lead the vision and execution of a robust, scalable cloud-native data platform for AbbVie's biologics AI/ML strategy. You will design enterprise data models and architectures, improve FAIR-fication and governance, and enable connected data use across drug discovery lab workflows.

• Drive vision and execution of a robust, scalable data platform for AbbVie's AI/ML strategy in BGM
• Define data models and architectures across multiple lab groups
• Ensure data pipelines support both ML development and production deployment
• Co-develop and execute a FAIR-fication strategy for BGM data
• Coordinate with data infrastructure and data governance experts to implement governance principles

The role focuses on enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and integration with AI/ML. Responsibilities include building data pipelines that support machine learning model development and production deployment, and implementing data governance and FAIR data foundations within cloud-first, cloud-native architectures.

The ideal candidate is a senior-to-executive data architecture leader with 6+ years (PhD) or 12–16+ years (BS/MS) designing enterprise data platforms. They have deep hands-on experience in data modeling, data integration, FAIR-fication of scientific data, and delivering scalable cloud-native foundations for predictive and generative machine learning in drug discovery workflows.
