Principal Data Scientist leading end-to-end data science initiatives for Ally Financial's Consumer Analytics, focusing on problem framing, data acquisition, modeling, deployment, and impact measurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with strategy, operations, and business leaders to translate ambiguous questions into data-driven solutions
  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments to evaluate business strategy changes
  • Build scalable models and analytics pipelines; productionize; ensure reliability and observability
  • Develop data assets: feature stores, dashboards, and standardized metrics definitions
  • Own end-to-end project delivery: plan, manage risks, align stakeholders, deliver on time

Technical Overview

Expertise in analytics and ML with SQL, Python, R or SAS; AWS/Amazon Web Services; Git workflows; develop dashboards; data pipelines; feature stores; model validation and monitoring per Model Risk Management; end-to-end pipeline productionization.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior data scientist with 5+ years of production analytics experience in financial services, strong ML algorithms, cloud (AWS) with end-to-end model deployment and monitoring, proficient in SQL/Python/R/SAS, and able to mentor others.
