Principal Project Manager - Transmission Infrastructure

This principal project manager role owns complex electric utility transmission and substation interconnection projects through the PJM process. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, safety performance, lead project teams through capital approvals, and ensure contractual interconnection timelines are met.

• Manage large and/or highly complex electric utility projects on time and at or below budget
• Lead transmission and substation customer interfaces including billable cost presentations and schedule negotiations
• Collaborate with other project managers and functional managers to utilize resources optimally
• Communicate project issues to sponsors and key stakeholders including executive-level audiences
• Drive business case capital approval process, project plan execution, and project closeout

This is a utilities engineering project management role (non-software) centered on PJM interconnection workflows governed by the Generation Interconnection Agreement (GIA). The job requires executing multi-project plans, managing customer schedule negotiations, and completing project closeout activities.

The ideal candidate is an experienced principal-level project manager who has led complex transmission, substation, and distribution projects through the PJM interconnection process. They are accountable for scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance and can execute projects against the Generation Interconnection Agreement (GIA) timeline while managing stakeholder and customer negotiations.
