About this role

This Principal Software Development Engineer role focuses on Developer Productivity & Insights within Expedia Group’s Developer Experience (DevEx) team. The engineer will define metrics strategy and build data pipelines, schemas, and dashboards that integrate SDLC signals to produce trusted insights for engineering leadership up to the CTO office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve metrics framework and data model for Developer Productivity & Insights
  • Build data pipelines, schemas, and dashboards integrating SDLC signals (Git, CI/CD, Jira)
  • Lead deep analytical investigations into productivity, flow, and quality
  • Partner with DevEx, Platform, and product teams to experiment with tools/workflows and measure impact (before/after)
  • Translate insights into narratives and recommendations for senior engineering leadership (CTO office)
