About this role

Lead the design, development, and launch of large high-impact applications, services, and systems within Walmart’s Enterprise Business Services (EBS). You will partner with cross-functional teams, drive quality and reliability mechanisms, and develop deep subject matter expertise in payroll.

Key Responsibilities

Lead design, development and launch of large high impact applications/services/systems
Collaborate with cross functional teams to scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services/systems
Establish quality mechanisms (design reviews, code reviews, OE reviews, root cause analysis)
Develop payroll subject matter expertise for technical and business forums
Advocate latest technology and system integration patterns

Technical Overview

Build highly available, scalable, performant distributed systems using a multi-stack approach including React, iOS, Android, Node.js, and Java. Develop and integrate services using APIs (including GQL), apply service-oriented architecture, work with relational and NoSQL databases, and use cloud services with CI/CD and Operational Excellence practices.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Principal-level software engineer with 10+ years building highly available, scalable systems end-to-end from inception to launch. They have strong expertise across React, iOS, Android, Node.js, and Java, with deep knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and CI/CD/Operational Excellence best practices.
