About this role
Operate and oversee the safe, efficient functioning of large industrial boilers and related 1st class power plant equipment. Lead shift engineer supervision and support engineering initiatives including upgrades, expansions, inspections, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all equipment in a 1st class power plant
- Supervise 2nd class and 3rd class shift engineers
- Oversee energy efficiency projects and equipment upgrades
- Conduct TSSA inspections of safety valves and boilers and inspect fire equipment
- Perform water samples on spray field/wastewater and manage parts/inventory
Technical Overview
Responsible for comprehensive power plant operations including boilers, air compressors, water treatment, cooling towers, and wastewater spray field activities. Ensures compliance via engineer log books and TSSA inspections, performs water sampling, and contributes to functional control documentation and engineering project execution.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior 1st class operating engineer with a certification in 1st class operating and proven hands-on experience operating industrial boilers in food manufacturing. They can lead and oversee shift engineers, manage log book compliance, complete required TSSA inspections for safety valves and boilers, and support facility improvement projects like energy efficiency and cooling upgrades. Strong communication and technical problem-solving are essential.
