Process Engineer

This Process Engineer role provides process engineering expertise to support safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly operation of the Ammonia plant in Yazoo City, Mississippi. The engineer will act as a process technical expert, partnering with operations, maintenance, engineering disciplines, and EHS to monitor performance, reduce upsets, and optimize operations.

• Monitor and report operational performance for process units and key variables affecting plant efficiency, capacity, performance, emissions, and process safety
• Evaluate process KPIs and equipment performance to reduce plant upsets
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support using process modeling, data analysis, and process tests
• Resolve problems related to process chemistry and equipment including major rotating/heat transfer assets
• Complete process engineering studies and provide process engineering technical support to operations

The position emphasizes monitoring and reporting process unit performance and key variables, evaluating process KPIs and equipment performance, and applying troubleshooting, process modeling, and data analysis. Responsibilities span process chemistry and equipment support across pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, absorbers, strippers, boilers, combustion equipment, reactors, and high-pressure steam systems.

The ideal candidate is a process engineer with hands-on ammonia plant process engineering experience, strong process safety focus, and proven ability to monitor process KPIs and equipment performance. They are comfortable troubleshooting issues across rotating and heat transfer equipment, using process modeling and data analysis to generate solutions that reduce upsets and improve emissions and reliability.
