About this role
Amazon is hiring multiple Procurement Specialist II roles to support procurement operations for a fulfillment center, including supplier management, inventory-related activities, and procurement transaction and expediting support. The position also focuses on safety compliance for non-inventory work, reporting key performance metrics, and driving savings and category performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide procurement operations support for fulfillment center (supplier management, inventory management, expediting support)
- Manage non-inventory resources with non-inventory associates and align best practices
- Drive safety compliance for non-inventory activities with regional/local safety teams
- Track and report key performance metrics and benchmark procurement processes
- Measure actual vs planned savings and own action plans; coordinate procurement and inventory management of nonmerchandise items
Technical Overview
This role is focused on procurement operations execution rather than software engineering. It includes measurement and reporting (recurring metrics reports, supplier scorecards, category metrics model), budgeting and savings tracking, and cross-functional coordination with Finance, Procurement Operations, AP (accounts payable), and suppliers.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Procurement Specialist II with 2+ years of procurement and supply chain experience supporting fulfillment or operations. They can manage supplier and inventory processes (including cycle counts), track procurement performance metrics and savings, and partner cross-functionally with Finance and internal teams to resolve vendor payment issues and improve procurement operations.
