About this role
Product Design Engineer for Amazon Leo program, shaping electromechanical hardware for customer terminals. Responsible for mechanical part and assembly design, testing, down-selection, and scaling for high-volume manufacturing in collaboration with manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- PD Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) for multiple system components
- Work with cross functional team to solve difficult electromechanical problems
- Identify design constrains and priorities
- Deliver robust, scalable, durable, and performant designs
- Concise and accurate communication with PD members, cross functional teams, and executives
Technical Overview
Mechanical/electromechanical hardware design with 3D CAD (ProEngineer); surface modeling; top-down design architecture; tolerance analysis; statistical process control; environmental testing; cross-functional collaboration; international travel for program execution.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level hardware design engineer with 2+ years of experience in electromechanical product design, strong CAD (ProEngineer), and experience validating components for high-volume consumer electronics. They should be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate design decisions to leadership, and travel internationally as needed.
