About this role
Plains is hiring a Project Manager in Houston to oversee project management, project engineering, and construction completion for the company’s capital expansion program. The role leads large, cross-functional initiatives and manages scope, cost, schedule, risk, contracting, procurement, and change orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple projects and cross-functional project teams,
- Manage the full project management process (scope, cost/schedule, risk, contracting, procurement, construction, documentation, close-out),
- Actively manage contractors and minimize change orders,
- Prepare, administrate, and monitor project budgets and schedules,
- Resolve design and construction conflicts and drive project performance
Technical Overview
The position requires advanced familiarity with the engineering design process and the ability to run engineering-based project reviews that ensure concepts, costs, and time schedules support stated objectives. You will also manage contractor performance, resolve design and construction conflicts, and provide engineering services related to cost performance and economic evaluations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a project manager with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience. They can lead large projects and cross-functional teams end-to-end, including scope development, cost and schedule, risk management, contracting/procurement, construction, documentation, and close-out—while minimizing change orders.
