About this role
AECOM is hiring a Protection and Controls Engineer to support its Energy Business Line’s Power Delivery programs and projects. The role can be remote in the U.S. or hybrid from an AECOM U.S. office, and it focuses on electrical design and protection and controls deliverables across transmission, distribution, and renewables.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for electrical engineering design work on assigned projects
- Work with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets
- Perform Power system studies and system protection settings coordination
- Generate basis of design documentation for protection settings and relay configurations
- Support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning and attend client meetings
Technical Overview
You will be responsible for electrical engineering design work, conducting power system studies and coordinating system protection settings. You will generate basis-of-design documentation for protection settings and relay configurations, and support projects through construction, start-up, and commissioning with occasional site travel and field walks.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Protection and Controls Engineer with a strong protection and controls background and hands-on experience in electrical engineering design. They can perform power system studies, coordinate system protection settings, generate protection settings and relay configuration documentation, and support projects through construction, start-up, and commissioning while communicating effectively with internal teams and clients.
