About this role

Amazon’s Center for Quantum Computing is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to support hardware measurement and instrument operations for quantum computing. You will execute scientific measurements, streamline system integration, optimize throughput, and build automated measurement sequences.

Build, run, and debug automated measurement sequences

Technical Overview

Role focuses on quantum hardware development with an emphasis on laboratory execution and instrumentation. You will use scripting (Python/R) to automate and debug measurement sequences, coordinate cross-functionally, and manage instrument maintenance while documenting and optimizing end-to-end system performance.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mid-level hardware development engineer with a strong physics or engineering background and hands-on laboratory experience with experimental techniques and instrumentation. They can write and debug automated measurement sequences using scripting languages like Python, and reliably execute scientific measurements under test standards while optimizing system integration and instrument throughput.
