About this role
Associate Chemist to join Sherwin-Williams General Industrial R&D team; develop new coatings formulations, work on 2K polyurethanes and epoxies, design experiments, analyze data, and participate in scale-up and launch activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and formulation of new coatings for the General Industrial market
- Work on coatings technologies including 2K polyurethanes, epoxies, and related chemistries
- Design experiments, evaluate data, and make technically sound recommendations for next steps
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of lab work, formulations, and testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including manufacturing, sales, marketing, and customers
Technical Overview
Coatings formulation development including 2K polyurethanes and epoxies; experiments, data analysis, documentation; cross-functional collaboration for scale-up and launch.
Ideal Candidate
Recent chemistry or materials science graduate with a strong formulation background in coatings; capable of experimental design, data analysis, and lab documentation; willing to travel ~20% and develop coatings for General Industrial market.
