About this role

Regional Environmental Engineer on AWS's Environmental Team responsible for environmental risk assessment, permitting, and compliance for data center siting and development, with extensive stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations
Lead Phase I & II ESAs and permitting
Deliver environmental permits and plans
Coordinate with cross-functional teams
Develop compliance metrics

Technical Overview

Expertise in Phase I/II ESAs, CWA 404/NPDES, RCRA/SPCC/SARA Title III; hands-on permit delivery and compliance planning; strong Excel and Windows proficiency; multi-state permitting experience preferred.

Ideal Candidate

Senior environmental engineer with 7+ years of multi-media permitting and environmental due diligence experience, especially for data center or critical infrastructure projects; strong project management and regulatory negotiation skills; proficient in Excel and Windows.

Must-Have Skills

Bachelor's degree in engineeringenvironmental scienceor related discipline7+ years of experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligencepermittingand compliance for existing sites and new developmentAt least 3 years of project or task management experience for environmental permitting and/or due diligence projects

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience in permitting within multiple states in the southwestern US (CA/NV/AZ/NM)Data center or critical infrastructure due diligencedesignconstructionand/or risk assessmentExperience managing and/or supporting community/public interactions
