About this role
Per diem Registered Nurse (RN) position in the PCU Float Pool for night shifts. The RN provides total nursing care with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, including patient/family education and telemetry-based monitoring responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide total nursing care including assessment and evaluation
- Plan and implement nursing care for assigned patients
- Teach and educate patients and families/significant others
- Interpret telemetry monitoring strips
- Meet compliance requirements (fit testing policy, EKG test) and deliver NIHSS-related care
Technical Overview
Progressive Care Unit clinical work emphasizing telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation, plus care for neurologically compromised and pre/post-op orthopedic patients. Includes required compliance steps such as Respiratory Fit Testing Protection Policy and completing an EKG test within 30 days, with NIHSS required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a California-licensed Registered Nurse with PCU Night RN experience and per diem availability for nights. They maintain current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS, are able to interpret telemetry strips, can care for neurologically compromised and pre/post-op orthopedic patients, and meet compliance requirements including EKG testing within 30 days and NIHSS readiness.
