RN Infection Preventionist FT Days

This full-time days RN Infection Preventionist role investigates and monitors suspected infection sources to ensure effective infection control. The position educates staff, reviews sterilization and disinfection techniques, and supports infection prevention practices to prevent nosocomial infections.

• Investigate and monitor suspected infection sources
• Ensure control of nosocomial infections using standard identification methods
• Provide related education to staff
• Review sterilization and disinfection techniques and recommend changes
• May prepare simple cultures for environmental and individual studies

The role focuses on infection control operations and evidence-based identification of nosocomial infections using standard methods and criteria. It includes staff education, review and recommendation of sterilization/disinfection techniques, and preparation of simple cultures as required for environmental and individual studies.

The ideal candidate is an RN with 3–5 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility and at least 1 year of experience in Infection Control or Infection Prevention. They hold (or will obtain within 2 years) the National Certification in Infection Control (CIC) and CPR, and they can educate staff while investigating and monitoring suspected infection sources and improving sterilization/disinfection practices.
