About this role
Senior rotorcraft design SME supporting U.S. Army AvMC technology development, applying NDARC/AIDEN tools to perform conceptual through detailed design activities and guide multidisciplinary trade studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent CD&A as an aircraft design SME at meetings, industry forums, program reviews, technology demonstrations, and operational tests
- Advise leadership on strategic planning activities, identifying paths for future concept exploration, tool development, and application to new, manned and unmanned air vehicle systems
- Utilize NDARC for detailed aircraft modeling and performance assessment
- Perform trade studies to explore requirements trade space and provide guidance on impacts of aircraft designs as related to operational requirements
- Mentor new hires and engineers, foster growth in aircraft design principles, analytical methods, and engineering best practices
Technical Overview
Hands-on rotorcraft design and performance estimation using government-standard tools (NDARC, AIDEN); experience with parametric design, open source tools, and Python scripting; capable of leading technical reviews and tool development.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior aerospace rotorcraft design engineer with 12+ years of experience, proficient in NDARC and AIDEN, and capable of leading multidisciplinary trades studies and communicating with senior leadership from remote/TOC engagements.
