About this role
The Sales Leadership Program trains participants in the scrap buying process and prepares them to assume a Buyer role. The program includes safety-first (OSHA) training, hands-on market learning across a geographic region, and relationship development with accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn all facets of the scrap buying process and assume a Buyer role
- Complete 6-12 months hands-on training in a geographic region
- Develop and support relationships with accounts to provide best possible service
- Build scrap recycling market expertise via customer visits and scrap yard time
- Master conflict resolution and communicate market forecast to the team
Technical Overview
This role is primarily sales and market training rather than technical systems work. It centers on market forecasting, account relationship management, scrap yard exposure, and safety compliance through OSHA and safety programs, with frequent travel and required relocation.

The ideal candidate is an early-career graduate with a strong interest in sales and the scrap recycling industry, ready for intensive training in the scrap buying process. They can model a Safety First culture (including OSHA safety programs), build customer/account relationships, and effectively communicate market forecasts while traveling and relocating as required.
